Windows based operating systems have all been a target for the Blue Screen of Death and Windows XP is no exception. The blue screen with white lettering that appears as you are locked out of your computer can be frustrating and scary. You need to determine the cause of the Blue Screen of Death in Windows XP:
Have You Installed Any New Hardware or Software? If you have then you may want to uninstall it or look for updated drivers.
Do You Have Faulty RAM? You can check through using a diagnostic scan of the memory or manually check it by removing the case and them one stick of RAM at a time and rebooting. If it is the RAM, you will simply need to replace the bad piece.
Is Your Windows Registry Corrupt or Cluttered? Most likely this is the cause of the Blue Screen of Death in Windows XP. You can download and install a registry cleaner that is compatible to your version of Windows and relieve your system from the error. Windows Vista is no stranger to the Blue Screen of Death. The BSOD error screen has been a common problem seen in Windows based operating systems since the Windows 95.
The BSOD is shown as a warning to alert you to a problem. You may be able to reboot the system after the crash and continue working for months before seeing the error again, but you will see it again and one of those times you will not be able to recover from it.
The best solution is to act quickly to the Blue Screen of Death error. Find out what the problem is and resolve it quickly. You can find the problem in one of three different places, the configuration, the memory, or the registry.
The configuration is normally a simple fix; you can update your drivers or uninstall any newly installed hardware or software.
The memory is simple to diagnose, you can remove one stick at a time and reboot, if you have a bad piece of memory, your system will not boot up to it.
The registry is more complex, and if you are doing it manually you can be in for some tedious work. You can quickly resolve the Blue Screen of Death error that is caused by a corrupt or cluttered Windows registry by downloading and installing a registry cleaner from the internet. Make sure that you create a backed up copy of the registry before you attempt any repairs or make any changes to the registry in Windows Vista.

Windows Server 2008 BSOD w/ Abit IP35 Pro - Toms Hardware
I thought I’d give Server 2008 a try since it was on Dreamspark for free, and I’ve read all these great things about it–how people have been using it as a workstation OS. I’ve been getting D1 and A stop errors pretty consistently. At first I thought

PC running slow
There may be a number of reasons for the performance of a PC to be affected. Temporary Internet files, which get stored in the temporary Internet files folder every time you browse through the Internet, are the major one that affects the performance of the PC. Do you know that the screen savers, cursors, image files and such other things that are visible while browsing gets automatically stored in the temporary internet files folder without our knowledge? Frequent usage of the Internet for browsing will increase the size of the temporary Internet files folder and will eventually affect the performance of the system at a later date.
The performance of the personal computer, or the PC, will be affected if preventive maintenance of the machine is not carried out at frequent intervals. Just as our vehicle or any other utility item in the house such as refrigerator, or the television, needs maintenance at frequent intervals for optimum performance, the PC also needs to be subjected to preventive maintenance at frequent intervals so that the problem of “PC running slow” does not occur or recur in future, and frustrate us any further.
It is quite simple to delete the temporary Internet files from the system. Just open the Internet explorer. In the menu bar visible in the top, click on the tools button. A drop down box will appear, in which you must select the “internet options” button. By selecting the “delete files” option under the “Temporary internet files” segment, you can get rid of the temporary Internet files that unnecessarily occupy the space in the hard disk and in turn, free up the space so that the performance will be better.
Clearing the junk files from the personal computer will also help in freeing the disk space and improving the performance of the system. This can be done by deleting the files from “C:\temp” directory, where most of the junk files get stored.
Often, all you need is a good registry cleaner to speed up your PC

Registry cleaner is a small software that helps persons using the Personal computer, or PC, to remove the unwanted and/or unused files, which are recorded in the registry and stay put in the hidden files category.
Most of the software meant for registry cleaning are available as a free download. Once the software is installed and frequently used for cleaning the registry, the performance of the system can be enhanced further.
Whenever we, as PC users, download a software and install it in the hardware, a large number of viruses, malware, and spyware, including cookies and images, get automatically stored in the registry part of the hard disc. Even after the software is deleted from the systems, some of the registry files including the hard disc components do not go out of the system, but instead gets stored inside the PC. After a period of time, these components slowly start impacting the performance of the PC.
By effectively using the registry cleaner, one can ensure that unwanted files are cleared from the present system. This periodical clearance of registry files from the system using the registry cleaner software will ensure that the performance of the PC is maintained at near 100% all times.
The registry cleaner software, which is a freeware, will ensure that unwanted and unnecessary files lying in the computer are cleared. By effectively using the registry cleaner, one can improve the prospects of success in affiliate marketing programs.
The next best thing about the Registry cleaner, apart from enhancing the performance of the PC, is that it is very user-friendly and a novice with little or no knowledge about the hardware aspects can use it on a periodical basis and ensure that the PC is maintained well with no comments about deterioration in the performance of the PC.

Reg Cleaner
The performance of a Personal computer or PC gets deteriorated after a period of time and the same speed and efficiency once experienced when the PC was brand new was not to be experienced. There are many reasons for the drop in performance.
One of the reasons for the drop in performance is the overloading of the registry in the PC. During the course of using the PC, we tend to download some of the programs and after a period of time, delete the software as the utility of the software was lost or new versions of the software are available. While doing so, most of us delete the directory in which the executable file and supporting files are loaded. The ideal way is to remove the program using the Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
The curious thing is while the outdated or rarely used software is deleted from the system, either directly from the explorer or through the add/remove programs, some of the registry files related to the software, which gets recorded once the software is downloaded, does not get deleted from the system.
Though the size of such files including the registry files and associated *.dll files is very less, these files nevertheless get stored in the registry. These files and the relevant *.dll files will affect the performance in the long run, if they are not cleaned from the registry file at periodic intervals.
A periodic review of the registry, that can be accessed by typing msconfig in the Run command on start up, will be of use to ensure that registry files for software, which was deleted from the system long back, are eliminated. By effectively cleaning the registry from the unwanted files and related *.dll files, the performance of the PC can be maintained at near 100% levels.
The fastest way to speed up a PC would be to simply download a registry cleaner and run a scan. It will clear up errors and instantly speed up application loading and PC boot up times.

The Blue Screen of Death causes your entire screen to freeze, a blue screen to appear that says your screen has froze. There will be DLL errors and you may be asked if you have installed any new programs or hard ware over the last few days.
Here are some quick fix “layman” solutions that have worked for me, especially if you’re the non techy type and just want simple solutions that remedy this problem.
1. Reboot and See
For some reason, the blue screen appears once and does not come back again. A quick reboot is all you need to get pass this blue screen crash. I remember having a laptop that because I bumped it against a table, went into blue screen mode. So if this should happen to you, just reboot your computer and see what happens. Hopefully it does not come back.
If the blue screen of death problem, is more intermittent and random. You may need to fix some things.
2. Change your RAM.
RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It is a hardware that is embedded on your mother board. It looks like a rectangular piece. The RAM stores information that your CPU will be able to call instructions from. When this hardware is faulty, your computer will crash into the blue screen when the sections are accessed by the CPU. So just changing your RAM is a possible solution.
3. Use a Registry Cleaner
A registry cleaner clears up errors in your computer’s registry. The registry contains all the information about drivers, games, software, applications that is stored in your computer. Over time, this area can get corrupted, there will be obsolete entries which can result in a Blue Screen of Death. Using a registy cleaner to fix these errors can help remove the blue screen of death and speed up your computer and application loading up time.
